From UV print shop to NFC card operation — live in Berlin

Glastrix does custom printing on glass, wood, and acrylic. When they decided to add NFC business cards, they didn't build the platform. They used Biztrix — and were processing real orders within days.

The situation

Eric runs a print operation in Berlin. Custom glass prints, wood panels, acrylic, business cards — quality work, small team, direct relationships with every customer. When NFC business cards started coming up in conversations, the question was straightforward: was there a way to offer them without spending months building the digital infrastructure?

The UV printer was already there. The printing know-how was already there. What was missing was everything digital: a sales website, an order system, a way to program the NFC chips, a customer portal where people could update their redirect URL. Building that from scratch — properly — would have meant six months and tens of thousands in development costs.

What Biztrix provided

The Biztrix platform gave Glastrix the complete digital operation, ready to use:

Sales website

Customers order directly — material, design, redirect URL. No spreadsheets, no email back-and-forth.

Admin panel

Eric sees every order, generates print-ready PDFs, and activates each card in under 60 seconds.

NFC programming

Card activation via QR scan. Scan the code on the blank card, confirm the order — done. The chip is live.

Customer dashboard

Every cardholder can update their redirect URL at any time. No support ticket. No reprinting.

Tap analytics

Real-time data on when and where each card is tapped. Eric can show customers it's working.

UV print rules built in

The 1% black rule for white ink, batch PDF structure, file specs — all handled. Nothing gets sent to the printer wrong.

The workflow in practice

A Glastrix NFC card order runs like this:

  1. 1

Customer places an order on nfc.glastrix.com — picks material, uploads design, enters their redirect URL.

  2. 2

Eric gets notified. He opens the admin panel, generates the print-ready PDF for that batch, and sends it to the UV printer.

  3. 3

Cards are printed. Eric opens the activation screen, scans the QR code on each blank card, and confirms the order. The NFC chip is now live.

  4. 4

Eric ships. Customer receives the card, taps it, and lands on their URL.

  5. 5

If the customer ever wants to change their URL — new job, new website — they log into their dashboard and update it themselves. No contact with Eric required.

"The card activation takes under a minute. I scan the QR, confirm, done. The customer updates their own URL if they need to — I never have to touch it again."

The result

Glastrix now runs a live NFC business card operation. Real customers, real orders, real taps. The digital infrastructure — sales website, order system, card activation, customer portal — is all handled by Biztrix. Eric's job is to print and ship.

The platform at nfc.glastrix.com is the live proof. Every UV print operator with the same question — "can I offer this without building it?" — now has a working answer.
